So this is how it ends for broadcast television. As soon as I can buy subscriptions for The Sorpranos through iTunes I’ll happily cancel my DirectTV subscription to HBO, for which I’ve been paying something like $12/month for the past two years while waiting for the next season. Okay I watch Deadwood, Rome, and The Wire too, so my cost threshold for these is $144/4=$36 per season assuming one season per year for each on average (the next season of The Sopranos apparently starts in less than a year – go figure).
